Who can be involved? Anyone can be involved.
Individuals—Families—Clubs—Schools—Churches—Organizations—Communities
Though the Solomon Valley Supporting Hands Project is a “team” endeavor, it takes many “individuals’ to make up the team. Consequently, contributing or working for the Supporting Hands Project can be anyone’s own “personal” project.
There are many ways to be involved with the Solomon Valley Supporting Hands Project:
Whether you are an individual, family, business or organization that has items matching our
needs list—your contribution is appreciated! Simply bring the items to a specified drop-off point. Or, contact a “Local Project Coordinator” or a group that is actively involved in collecting donations and they can assist you with additional information.
If you are a club, school, church—any organization or group with a need or want for a charitable
venture, then you can be involved. Simply contact a Local Project Coordinator, a Project Oversight Coordinator or the Will to Succeed Foundation representative (see the "Contact Us" page) — and they will be glad to provide additional information.
If you are an individual that would like to be active as "Local Project Coordinator," or involved with the sorting, packing and/or shipping process, please inform a local participating group, project coordinator or committee member.
Mentoring and/or onsite volunteer opportunities are available at some youth and family service centers. Arrangements can be made for individual or group participation.
What can my organization or group do to get involved? First, see the information provided this website's “Our Needs” page. You will quickly get ideas for participation. For Example:
Your church might declare a “clothes” drive whether the event be one-time, monthly, quarterly…
Your school club might host a “book” drive where everyone attending a sports event donates a
book or books…
Each club member might be asked to bring a pack of diapers to the next meeting…
Organizations might provide a “needs list” for its members that they might spread the word…
Your business might solicit “cash” donations—food stamps don’t buy diapers and many other
essential, everyday items…
Your youth group might want to sponsor a “toiletry,” “toy” or “food” drive…
Donations are tax deductible as defined by law. Please contact your tax-accountant for additional information. Tax donation receipts will be provided for those who want them by the Will to Succeed Foundation.
